An integral component to enhance students online learning is video, or more specifically, recorded lectures.  For faculty members that excel in the classroom, the transition to online learning may be uncomfortable, or even excruciating.  However, recognizing students' success may be dependent on your recorded lectures typically inspires faculty to make this leap.  With this being said, assembled below is an abundance of resources/insights to help faculty create engaging online learning videos.


The first insight is the transition from lecturer (a.k.a. subject matter expert) to film producer, director, and editor.  A film - or in our case a recorded lecture - is typically divided into three stages of production, as illustrated below.
