Production is the period that involves the actual recording of an instructor's content. Assuming proper due diligence in the pre-production stage, the production stage should go smoothly and is typically the shortest stage of the video production process.
Similar to the other stages, the production stage may vary dramatically depending on the desired outcome of the video being recorded. The recording process may be as simple as propping-up a Smartphone and sharing an impromptu message.
If an instructor is trying to going for more advanced recording techniques, such as: superimposing their image on a slideshow, recording multiple sources (e.g., screen, instructor, document camera), and reading from a teleprompter, the production stage may be more elaborate.
